Sick visits and same-day care
If your child is sick, call as early in the day as you can and describe the symptoms. We offer same-day sick visits, so we can often see your child the day you call.
Call us right away for these signs:
- A fever in a baby under 3 months old (a rectal temperature of 100.4°F or higher)
- Trouble feeding, or fewer wet diapers than usual
- A rash with fever
- Symptoms that are getting worse, not better
Go to the ER or call 911 for trouble breathing, a seizure, a child who is very hard to wake, or a serious injury.
New patients: what to bring
We are accepting new patients. To make the first visit quick, bring:
- Your child’s insurance card, and the policyholder’s card if it is a different person
- A photo ID for the parent or guardian
- Your child’s vaccine record (for a newborn, the hospital paperwork)
- Past medical records, such as test results, allergy notes or X-rays
- A list of medicines, with names and doses, and your pharmacy details
- Any school, daycare or sports forms that need a signature
Arrive about 15 minutes early to finish paperwork. If your child has records from a previous doctor, ask that office to send them before the visit.

FAQs
How do I book a pediatrician appointment at A2Z Pediatrics?
Call 630-755-5437 or send the request form on this page. Give us your child’s name, date of birth, the reason for the visit and the office you prefer. We then confirm a day and time with you. Phone is the fastest way to book, especially for a sick child who needs to be seen soon.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
You can walk in during office hours, but we recommend calling ahead. A call lets us tell you what to bring and which office has the right time for your child. For a sick child, call early in the day so we can plan your visit.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We are accepting new patients at our Bolingbrook, Downers Grove and Darien offices. Call 630-755-5437 with your insurance details and your child’s age, and we will book a first visit. You can also ask your previous doctor to send records ahead.
Can I get a same-day appointment for a sick child?
Yes, we offer same-day sick visits. Call early in the day and describe the symptoms, so we can find the best time. For breathing trouble, a seizure or a baby under 3 months with a fever, get urgent care right away instead of waiting for an appointment.
How far ahead should I book a checkup?
Book yearly checkups and school or sports physicals early, because late summer fills up. A good rule is to call 6 to 8 weeks before a school or sports deadline. Newborn visits should be booked as soon as you are home from the hospital, usually within a few days of discharge.
What should I bring to my child’s first visit?
Bring your insurance card, your photo ID, your child’s vaccine record, past medical records, a list of medicines and any forms that need a signature. Arrive about 15 minutes early to finish paperwork. If you can, ask your child’s previous doctor to send records to our office before the visit.
