Sick Visits for Children

When your child isn’t feeling well, you need prompt, reliable, and compassionate care. Our clinic offers same-day and next-day sick visits for a wide range of common childhood illnesses and symptoms—helping your child feel better quickly and giving you peace of mind.

What Are Sick Visits?

Sick visits are medical appointments scheduled when your child is experiencing acute symptoms, such as fever, cough, sore throat, or stomach pain. These visits focus on diagnosing the problem, providing relief, and determining whether further treatment is needed.

We understand that illness can be stressful for both children and parents. That’s why we offer a warm, supportive environment and personalized attention for every visit.

Common Reasons for Sick Visits
You can schedule a sick visit if your child is showing symptoms such as:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough, congestion, or wheezing
  • Sore throat or ear pain
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Rash or skin irritation
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
  • Headache or fatigue
  • Minor injuries or falls
  • Urinary symptoms (pain, frequency)

If you’re unsure whether your child needs to be seen, our staff can help you decide.

What to Expect During a Sick Visit

We aim to evaluate your child thoroughly and efficiently while keeping them as comfortable as possible. A typical sick visit includes:

Symptom Review

• When the symptoms began
• How they’ve changed or progressed
• Any home treatments already tried

Physical Examination

• Temperature check and vital signs
• Examination of affected areas (e.g., ears, throat, chest, skin)
• Listening to lungs and heart if respiratory issues are present

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

• Clear explanation of the condition
• Prescription or over-the-counter treatment recommendations
• Home care guidance and red-flag symptoms to watch for

Testing (if needed)

• Rapid strep or flu tests
• COVID-19 testing
• Urinalysis or bloodwork (in some cases)

When to Schedule a Sick Visit

You should call us for a sick visit if:

  • Your child has had a fever for more than 2–3 days
  • Symptoms are interfering with sleep, appetite, or activity
  • Breathing appears labored or wheezy
  • You suspect an ear infection or strep throat
  • A rash appears suddenly or spreads quickly
  • Vomiting or diarrhea lasts more than 24 hours
  • You’re worried and need a professional evaluation
